hello, and welcome

I am Yuri Suzuki

Founder of Okatazuke Salon

I am a Lifestyle and Professional Organizing Consultant based in Japan.

Since founding Okatazuke Salon in 2019, I have advised more than 2,000 clients through home organizing, decluttering, and workplace organization.

My work is centered on hands-on organizing support, working side by side with my clients in their homes to create spaces that are easier to live in and easier to maintain.

Here is a little about my story, my philosophy, and why I started Okatazuke Salon.

what matters most

It isn’t the number of homes I have organized.

It is seeing how people’s lives begin to change.

“I can finally invite friends over.”

“Our family argues less.”

“I have become more confident.”

“I wish I had asked for help sooner.”

Every time I hear these words, I am reminded that organizing is never just about creating a tidy room.
It is about creating a better life.

between two cultures

Everyone wants a home
where they can truly relax

I also know what it is like to build a life in another country. Living in the Philippines allowed me to experience a culture, lifestyle, and way of living that was very different from Japan.

Every country has different homes, different storage solutions, and different ways of living. But one thing is universal. Everyone wants a home where they can truly relax.

That is why I always begin by understanding each person’s lifestyle, values, and goals. Together, we identify what is truly important and create organizing systems that are practical, sustainable, and easy to maintain.

New to Japan, or finding a compact home hard to live in?

I am here to help. By introducing practical Japanese storage ideas, organizing products, and space-saving solutions tailored to your home, I can help transform your space into one that is more functional, comfortable, and enjoyable to live in.

My hope is that organizing will help you live more authentically and enjoy everyday life a little more.

“Organize your home. Enrich your life.”
That is the philosophy behind Okatazuke Salon.

philosophy

Organizing Is the Best Form of Self-Care

“Your home is the place where you spend the greatest part of your life.”

I often say, your home is the stage for the movie of your life.
And you are the main character.

Every day unfolds on that stage. It is where you wake up in the morning. Where you gather around the table with family. Where you relax after a long day. Where countless ordinary moments quietly become your life’s memories.

When that stage is overwhelmed with clutter and constant searching for things, even beautiful moments can become stressful. That is why I believe caring for your home is also a way of caring for yourself.

What organizing is, and what it is not

Organizing is not about owning less for the sake of owning less. It is not about buying expensive storage products, either. It is about understanding what truly matters to you, keeping the things that support your life, and creating a home that works naturally for you and your family.

A home where everything has its place.

A home that feels peaceful when you walk through the door.

A home that gives you more time, more energy, and more room to enjoy life.

When your home changes, something else begins to change as well. You change. Your relationships become calmer. Your daily routines become easier. You have more time for the people and activities you love.

living well in small spaces

Your home does not have to be large
to feel abundant

Japan has a long tradition of living comfortably in compact spaces. By choosing carefully, using space wisely, and appreciating the changing seasons, we have learned that a fulfilling life is not created by having more, but by making the most of what we have.

My hope is to share not only Japanese organizing techniques, but also this way of thinking.

I hope your home becomes a place you look forward to returning to every day. And I hope the life you create on that stage reflects who you truly are.
